Week 50 (Dec 11-13 2015) – Snö, test och fest i Åre
The perfect start of your winterseason; Åre gets ready for winter and gives you a look in what’s coming up this season.
– Free testing of somewhat 40 different brands in skiing, snowboarding, clothing, equipment, etc.
– Evening skiing until 24.00 o’clock!
– Fashion shows
– Åre Lavin Center demonstrations
And after skiing, the restaurants and nightclubs are waiting for you to show their menus and programs.
Week 50 (December 12 and 13 2015) – FIS World Cup Alpine Ladies
The world best ladies in Alpine Skiing come to Åre to gather valuable World Cup point in Slalom, Giant Slalom, Downhill and Combination.
Åre cheers them on and celebrates…
Week 52 (Dec 23-27 2015) – Christmas in Åre
Christmas in Sweden is very unique, and Christmas in Åre is a true winter wonderland fairytale. Santa Claus is on ‘home territory’, so the village of Åre is at its best, dipped in a supercosy Christmas atmosphere… Enjoy Christmas at home or in one of the Christmas spirited restaurants. And everybody everywhere is waiting for Santa Claus and its reindeer drawn sleigh…God Jul!
Week 3, 4 en 5 – Studentkortet Skiweek Åre 2016
All Swedish students get their heads out of their books and come to Åre. Rental discounts, skiraces, and offcourse; the afterski and nightlife… Åre is the place to be to make new friends.
Week 6 (Feb 8-14 2016) – Åre Gastronomy Week
The gastronomy of Jämtland is internationally famous and this week is a tribute to all local master chefs. For you the perfect opportunity to taste ‘Åre’…
– local wine and cheese tasting sessions
– cooking contests by Swedish Master Chefs
– outdoor cooking demo’s
– a beermarket
– snowscootertrips with luxurious outdoor brunch

Week 7, 8, 9 and 10 – Sportslov veckor
These are the Swedish spring holidays, called Sportweeks. No wonder all Swedes come to Åre to enjoy a week packed with all kinds of family activities…
Week 12/13 (March 20 April 3 2016) – Easter in Åre
Easter in Åre is one big happy family feast! Traditional stuff in the village, the weather, lifts that stay open late, the food, spring temperatures, skiing conditions, and much more. Many activities especially for the kids (egghunting, skiraces, Easter handcrafts, etc.). Highly recommended!
Week 12 (March 27th, 2016) – Red Bull Home Run
Challenge yourself and your buddies in the year’s most adrenaline fueled racing.
The race starts after the lifts closed for the day and the hills emptied of people. Everyone starts at the same time without skis or snowboard on your feet and the starting signal for it to rush up to their equipment to get going as fast as possible. The rest is easy… The first to cross the finish line and reach afterski on Timmerstugan at Åreskutan feet is the winner

Week 14 (April 9 2016) – Åre XC Open
A spectacular cross country event, open for everyone. 13 km freestyle XC skiing, mostly up against the Åre Björnen ski slopes and the finish line drawn at Copper Hill Hotel. As a recreational, you will be able to race all the big names from Sochi 2014. Afterwards a ceremony and a good afterski at the hotel.
Week 16 (April 23 2016) – Skutsjutet
The worlds biggest downhill skiing event. From age 3 everybody can join and race this 2,7 km downhill run. As a team or alone, in one the 25 different competition classes. Afterwards, a big afterski on the main square in Åre with top artists and a lotery in which you can win an Audi…
Week 17 (April 28 – May 1 2016) – Freeride Weekend 2015 & Åre Spring Beat
The Åre slope system changes into a real playground for everyone who is into freeride; jumps, rails, all a real ‘jibber’ wishes for. A chance to upgrade your freerideskills with tips and tricks from the pro’s, or to get caught by freeriding.
In the mean time, top DJ’s spin their wheels of steel outside to get you in the right groove. Not to mention the afterski and nightlife this week…
Week 17 (April 28 – May 1 2016) – Hot Dog Challenge
Join this total crazy ‘Back to the Eighties’ retro event at the Snobrännan near Fjällgårde Hotel. Who is dressed most ‘Old School’ Style and still masters the Old School techniques? Who has the best ‘recovery’ after a crash? Who has the most stylish ‘Mule Kick’?
No need to mention the afterski at the Fjällgården Hotel.
